A gold 4D-structure is the highest resolution analysis we perform and delivers the most accurate quantification that is currently possible. Typically, the modal behaviours, preferred geometries and librational amplitudes for 90 - 100% of the rotatable bonds in the molecule will be precisely defined in a Gold structure.

We would recommend this level of analysis for the natural ligand of any new therapeutic target - to derive the most accurate NCE template possible. We also recommended Gold structures for the analysis of candidate drugs in the later stages of lead optimisation and development.
